Description
The Berthold LB 6701 ionisation chamber is a photon radiation dose rate probe used in health physics applications. Its measured quantity is ambient dose equivalent H*(10) or ambient dose rate equivalent Ḣ*(10).
The Berthold LB 6701 ionisation chamber is made from aluminium with a nitrogen gas filling at 10 bar and a radiation resistance up to 106Gy. The chamber current is proportional to the dose rate, this current is converted into a +11V Norm pulse frequency in the Current/Frequency converter LB3856-23 or LB3856-24.
The Current/ Frequency converter is mounted in a separate housing LB6703 which also contains the high voltage module to operate the ionisation chamber. A 90Sr check source with 2.5 kBq, 25 kBq or 50 kBq activity is built in the ionisation chamber to continuously monitor the proper functioning of the system.
The ionisation chamber exists in 3 versions:
- LB 6701L – Low dose rate 10 µSv/h to 10 Sv/h
- LB 6701M – Middle dose rate 0.1 mSv/h to 100 Sv/h
- LB 6701H – High dose rate 1 mSv/h to 1000 Sv/h
Main applications:
- Nuclear Medicine
- Civil Defence and Disaster Control
- Research Facilities
- Industry and Services
- Public Facilities
- Nuclear Facilities
