Nuclear Australia is the perfect choice for custom radiation-based products and services. From conceptualisation to execution, we will be there every step of the way, to suit every design specification. We design, implement, simulate and test, custom designed radiation tracking and protection solutions. Upon contacting us with an enquiry to discuss requirements, Nuclear Australia can arrange for a consulting session with our engineers to identify feasible solutions for our customers. This session can be conducted remotely or on site, at our customer’s convenience. We can also provide simulations of the amount of detectable radiation by distance from any of our radioactive source containment unit upon request. The entire process is dynamic and customizable to ensure optimum customer satisfaction and experience.
Nuclear Australia the go-to company for designing and constructing mechanical and electronic systems, radiation and management plans, and shielding simulation services.
Packages that are used for the transportation for radioactive sources have to meet strict regulatory requirements. Nuclear Australia designs and produces packages that are thoroughly tested and verified to ensure that they meet the current regulatory standards set by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). At Nuclear Australia, we conduct a series of extensive physical tests on the packages to ensure that the package is safe for transport. Once tests are complete, a certificate of compliance will be issued to the customer.
We’ve written up a quick summary on Type A package design and verification, the various physical tests required for verification, as well as the factors that specify what type of packaging will be required for your needs. Click the button below to check it out!

Nuclear Australia provides professional radiation services for the industrial, medical, mining, government and commercial sectors. Analytical services are performed by our experienced staff and include testing of radionuclide levels in a variety of matrices such as food, soil, sediments, water and slurry. We also offer wipe testing, on-site inspection auditing, and construction of Radiation Management Plans for companies using radioactive materials to aid in compliance to the ARPANSA regulations and code of practice.
Nuclear Australia are the leading professionals in the design and implementation of Radiation Management Plans. Radiation Management Plans are often a legal requirement of the Local Health Department or other similar governing bodies. In the event that there are no formal requirements mandating such plans, any responsible company will have a plan in place to cover any unforeseen future situations such as fire or other catastrophes.
It would be unwise to conduct business without contingency and emergency plans. Nuclear Australia’s Radiation Management Plan covers the responsibilities of the Company, the Radiation Safety Officer and the Employee plus more.
We will visit your site, assess all radiation hazards and locations on site and write a Radiation Management Plan tailored specifically for your company’s requirements. Writing of the Management Plan will be done in joint consultation with the Site Radiation Safety Officer and Occupational Health and Safety Officers. Completion is only considered when all interested parties are in full agreement with the Plan, their Roles and their Responsibilities.
Wipe Testing is a necessary legal requirement to ensure the integrity of the source. The Wipe Testing Procedure is performed periodically to ensure the source capsule is not leaking, allowing dangerous isotopes to escape into the surrounding environment.
A leaking source capsule is deemed unacceptable and dangerous and must be disposed of under the guidance of the relevant Authority. The actual test is a simple procedure where a specialized wipe is used to pick up any loose materials from the surface of the source holder. A Nuclear Australia engineer will visit your site and perform the wipe test. Upon the conclusion of an on-site testing, a certificate will be supplied on site, for your records.
Alternatively, a wipe may be taken by the site Radiation Safety Officer and forwarded to Nuclear Australia for analysis. A Certificate of Compliance will be issued within 5 working days from receipt of wipe.
